Injury Update: Gilbert, Saifiti gone for season; Plath awaits fate
The Dolphins are facing significant challenges as injuries have tested their roster depth.
Tom Gilbert and Daniel Saifiti have both been confirmed to be out for the remainder of the season due to shoulder injuries.
Gilbert underwent surgery for a pectoral tear, during which a labrum tear in his shoulder was also discovered and repaired.
Consequently, he will require an extended rehabilitation period and will not return this year as initially anticipated.
Saifiti, on the other hand, will have surgery on Wednesday for a shoulder injury he sustained in round eight against Canberra, which did not improve despite rehabilitation efforts.
Max Plath has joined the injury list due to a serious knee injury sustained during the team's recent match against the Dragons, where they won 56-6.
Plath left the field and subsequent scans revealed some damage to his knee.
The specific rehabilitation plan or need for surgery will be determined when he consults with a specialist next week.
The current injuries are a significant setback for the Dolphins as they navigate the remainder of the season.
