The Dolphins have managed to weather the storm of injuries and a determined Wests Tigers team to hold onto their top spot on the ladder with a gritty 26-16 victory.

In a display of sheer strength and determination, the Dolphins dominated the first half, securing a 14-0 lead with some superb tries.

Coach Wayne Bennett would have been especially pleased with his team's defensive efforts during a crucial period in the game where they managed to keep the Tigers at bay.

Despite both teams having an equal share of possession at halftime, the Dolphins made the most of their opportunities with an impressive 82 percent completion rate, outshining the Tigers' 65 percent rate.

With the experienced mentor Wayne Bennett facing off against his protege turned coach, Benji Marshall, the game was set for a clash of tactics.

The Tigers attempted to disrupt the Dolphins' game plan with early kicks, spearheaded by Aidan Sezer's two 40/20 kicks that put pressure on the Dolphins.

Although the Tigers managed to find some success in the second half, with Alex Seyfarth scoring a crucial try to keep them in the game, it was the Dolphins' early dominance that ultimately secured the win.

In true Rugby League fashion, the Dolphins showed resilience in the face of adversity, proving why they are the team to beat this season.

With performances like this, they are sure to keep riding high on the ladder.
