The NRL's top Indigenous players are throwing their support behind the new Gadhu Gathering event, believing it has the potential to become even bigger than Magic Round.

The Gadhu Gathering will feature four games at Allianz Stadium during the NRL and NRLW Indigenous Round, showcasing and celebrating Indigenous culture.

This initiative is similar to Magic Round, which is held at Suncorp Stadium and has become a major event in the sport.

However, Rabbitohs star Cody Walker emphasized that the Gadhu Gathering will have a lasting impact beyond just football.

Walker expressed his excitement for the event, stating, "It's going to be very special.

It's going to be about the culture and the people." He believes that the Gadhu Gathering will not only be a great spectacle for fans but will also have a meaningful impact on the community.

The event aims to unite everyone in celebrating Indigenous culture and history in a way that goes beyond just the games being played.

Adding to the enthusiasm surrounding the event, Indigenous All Stars captain Cody Walker highlighted the significance of having a dedicated event that celebrates their culture.

Walker emphasized the importance of representation, saying, "As Indigenous players, we want to showcase the culture as much as we can." The Gadhu Gathering provides a platform for Indigenous players to share their heritage, stories, and traditions with a wider audience, creating awareness and appreciation for Indigenous culture.

The NRL Indigenous Round is already a powerful and important fixture on the rugby league calendar, and the addition of the Gadhu Gathering further amplifies its significance.

With the support and participation of top Indigenous players, this event has the potential to leave a lasting legacy in promoting and celebrating Indigenous culture within the sport and the wider community.

As Walker stated, "It's not just about the footy.

It's about something bigger.

It's about culture, the people, and leaving a lasting legacy."
