As Jonah Cunningham Jr.

embarks on his own sporting journey, he finds himself navigating the shadow of his legendary father, Keiron Cunningham, a revered figure in the world of rugby league.

Despite his best efforts to escape the looming presence of his dad's statue outside the famous stadium, Cunningham Jr.

found that even a move across the country to Wymondham, Norfolk was not enough to break free.

After dabbling in rugby union and declaring himself "done" with the sport following a series of setbacks at St Helens, fate intervened in the form of amateur club Anglian Vipers and a timely social media recommendation.

"I arrived in a town where rugby league was a foreign concept," Cunningham reflected on his journey to BBC Radio Norfolk.

In true sporting fashion, Cunningham Jr.

is determined to carve out his own path and make a name for himself on the rugby league field, free from comparisons to his father's illustrious career.

As he takes on this new challenge, he embraces his identity as "just Jonah", ready to write his own chapter in the annals of Rugby League history.
