Bulldogs left feeling like they've been done dirty by Manly with a controversial try that turned the tide

Daly Cherry-Evans caught breaking the rules in game-deciding Sea Eagles try that left Bulldogs fans fuming.

Bulldogs supporters are up in arms over Manly's cheeky try from a scrum that played a pivotal role in the Sea Eagles prevailing in their heart-stopping NRL finals clash on Sunday.

And damning video evidence suggests that Daly Cherry-Evans may have bent the rules, leading to a try that perhaps should not have been awarded.

Manly pulled a fast one on the Bulldogs' impenetrable defense when Cherry-Evans strategically slotted in at lock position before passing the ball straight to Luke Brooks.

The crafty Manly playmaker set up the attacking move, allowing Cherry-Evans to saunter through a gap in the defense and score a crucial try.

The Bulldogs were left scratching their heads at how they fell for the play, but was it all fair play? Footage of the scrum maneuver indicates that Cherry-Evans may have jumped the gun by not remaining in contact with the scrum when the ball was put in, thus breaking the rules.

According to the official NRL regulations, the referee should have either called for the scrum to be reset or penalized Manly for the infringement.

As stated in section 12 of the official rules of the game, "all players must remain in the scrum until the ball is out."
