Lachlan Ilias, the halfback for St George Illawarra Dragons, has been linked to a surprising off-season move to the Gold Coast Titans.
Ilias has struggled for playing time in the 2025 season with the Dragons. Initially starting as the number seven, he was dropped by coach Shane Flanagan within the first ten rounds and has not returned to the lineup since.
Meanwhile, the NSW Cup Dragons advanced to the grand final but lost to the minor premiers, the New Zealand Warriors, on Sunday afternoon.
It appears Ilias has effectively been informed that he is free to leave the club, and he is reportedly seeking opportunities either within Australia or in England.
According to a report by News Corp, the Gold Coast Titans have emerged as a potential destination for Ilias. The Titans had a challenging year in 2025, narrowly escaping the wooden spoon, and are expected to make roster changes as Josh Hannay steps in as head coach, replacing Des Hasler.
