Nicho Hynes, the Sharks halfback, is enjoying a moment of peace as he steps away from the intense State of Origin selection debate that has surrounded him for the past three years.

According to nrl.com.au, while he feels disappointed not to be part of the Blues conversation, Hynes appreciates the chance to focus on his personal game without the weight of external scrutiny.

This mental clarity appears to have translated into his performance on the field, as he has delivered some of his best football during the past month, contributing to a solid start for Cronulla.

Preparing for the Sharks' second Mental Fitness Round-a campaign Hynes helped initiate-he emphasized that his freedom to concentrate on himself has positively impacted his game.

Signs of improvement have been evident, particularly in his partnership with fellow player Trindall.

Trindall noted that while Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes represent the top combination for halves in the NRL, he remains optimistic about his progressing partnership with Hynes.
