In recent years, the Penrith Panthers have nurtured numerous exceptional talents through their pathways system, enabling the team to remain competitive and secure four consecutive NRL premierships, even after losing key representative players.
Following the departures of Jarome Luai, James Fisher-Harris, and Stephen Crichton, a new generation of players has started to emerge from the Panthers' system. Notable names among these include the McLean brothers, Casey and Jesse, playmaker Jack Cole, and forward Luron Patea.
Among these promising talents, young utility back Hunter Bell is eager to carve out his own path after being selected for the Under-18s NSW City squad earlier this year.
Bell, who primarily plays in the centres, previously captained the Panthers' Under-17s Harold Matthews Cup team and recently debuted in the Under-21s Jersey Flegg, all while still completing his final year of school.
"It would mean everything to play in the NRL. It's all I've been dreaming about since I was five, so if I'm fortunate to get that opportunity, I'd take it with both hands," Bell told Zero Tackle.
While reaching his NRL dream remains a priority, Bell is also determined to lead a successful campaign in the SG Ball Cup in 2026, following an underwhelming performance this year.
