Willie Peters expresses Hull KR's ambition as they gear up for the World Club Challenge against the Brisbane Broncos.
The team enjoyed an unforgettable 2025, clinching the Challenge Cup, League Leaders' Shield, and the Grand Final at Old Trafford, solidifying their status as Super League champions.
Peters, who previously served as an assistant coach for Australia's Ashes series victory, acknowledged the significance of this match, especially as it marks the Robins' first appearance in the event.
"It's huge," the Australian remarked. "We're privileged to be part of it and we don't just make the numbers up."
He added, "We want to make sure we do Super League and the game over here proud. We'll prepare well for it."
The team aims to become the fifth Super League side to win the challenge, highlighting the rarity of their opportunity. "No one's had a World Club Challenge game outside of those big fours," he noted.
Unfortunately, Hull KR faced a setback with a surprising 19-18 loss to newly-promoted York in their first game of the 2026 season.
