Hughes storms ahead as Trbojevic closes in

Jahrome Hughes from the Melbourne Storm has seized the lead in the race for Zero Tackle's MVP title after the Sydney Roosters had a bye.

Hughes put in a stellar performance, earning 14 votes and reclaiming the top spot from his rivals.

Hughes has consistently been a standout player for the Storm throughout the season, and now holds a ten-vote advantage over James Tedesco from the Roosters as the competition enters its final weeks.

Meanwhile, Scott Drinkwater from the North Queensland Cowboys, who did not receive any votes in their recent loss to the Brisbane Broncos, remains in contention but is 17 votes behind Hughes.

Tom Trbojevic made a strong move over the weekend, earning 18 votes and climbing back to fourth place.

However, he faces a significant gap of 41 votes behind Drinkwater and 58 behind Hughes.

Trbojevic would need a flawless finish to the season and reliance on Hughes faltering to have a chance at claiming the overall victory.

While a few other players in the top ten received votes, it was a week where only a select few, including Ryan Papenhuyzen, Toby Sexton, Herbie Farnworth, and Fletcher Sharpe, managed to score a perfect 20.

Daly Cherry-Evans and Jacob Kiraz also improved their positions within the top ten, but the competition remains fierce as the season approaches its climax.
