Consistency sees Howarth in frame for Origin honours

Jack Howarth, a 22-year-old centre from Mackay, has gained attention for potential selection in Billy Slater's Queensland side after a standout season.

Only last year, he was playing in the Hostplus Cup and seemed distant from the first-team plans of coach Craig Bellamy.

His continued development has led to calls for him to join the State of Origin team, especially after he declined an opportunity to represent New Zealand last year.

In a recent match against the Cowboys, Howarth played a crucial role in the Storm's defensive play, contributing to their impressive 38-14 victory.

Beyond his defensive skills, he has also demonstrated his offensive capabilities, recording five try assists this season.
