'I needed a wake-up call': Horsburgh in top shape after sacrificing his saucy habits
Corey Horsburgh never imagined a meal without a side of sauce, but the Raiders forward is looking like a new man in 2025.
The Canberra Times are reporting on his impressive transformation.
Reflecting on the last NRL season filled with injuries, suspensions, and a well-documented fallout with coach Ricky Stuart, Horsburgh described it as "shitty." Struggling with form and fitness after a stellar 2023 where he made his Origin debut, he knew he had fallen short on and off the field.
But sometimes, hitting rock bottom is the only way to bounce back stronger.
Horsburgh believes that the disappointments of last season were necessary for his current physical and mental growth.
"It was a wake-up call, especially in terms of body image.
I've always carried a bit of extra weight, but if I want to reach my goals in this game, I had to get in better shape," said the Queenslander.
In a classic sports movie fashion, one can picture a motivational montage capturing the grueling gym sessions that followed this realization.
The transformation in Horsburgh's fitness signals a new chapter in his career, one that promises success and redemption.
