'Extraordinary and humbling experience': Hill to depart PNG for Panthers
Andrew Hill, the CEO of Papua New Guinea NRL, has revealed he will be leaving his position to take on the role of chief executive at the Panthers. Hill played a significant role in the push for a Papua New Guinea team to enter the NRL Premiership.
His contributions included overseeing the organization of World Cup matches in Port Moresby during his tenure as CEO of RLWC2017. Over the past three years, he successfully led the efforts to secure a PNG team's bid to join the NRL in 2028.
However, Hill will not be present to oversee the team's inaugural match at Santos Stadium, having announced his resignation on Wednesday.
He will return to a position closer to his roots, taking over from Brian Fletcher as the Panthers Group chief executive, a role Fletcher has held for many years before his planned retirement at the end of the year.
