'He'll do the jersey proud': Moses gives his backing to Hynes to shine for NSW, discloses feeling "helpless" about Brad Arthur's departure
Mitchell Moses put on a remarkable show for Parramatta in their victory against Cronulla and opened up about his sense of powerlessness as coach Brad Arthur was let go.
Moses expressed his belief in Nicho Hynes to take on the role of halfback for the Blues, stating that Hynes "deserves the opportunity" after his remarkable recovery from injury following more than two months on the sideline.
The Parramatta No.7 holds the title of NSW halfback but was ruled out for selection in the series opener due to a fractured left foot sustained in round three.
Despite Moses being the logical option to partner with the injured Nathan Cleary, fate had other plans.
Hynes will now guide the team on the field despite nursing a calf issue of his own.
"I'm rooting for their victory.
The team Madge (Blues coach Michael Maguire) has assembled is exceptional," Moses remarked, hinting at a potential selection for game two if NSW doesn't secure the win in the upcoming fixture.
"I just need to deliver top-notch performance here, and the rest will sort itself out.
I truly hope they emerge victorious.
