The NSWRL's Southern Corridor Development Day hit Helensburgh's Rex Jackson Oval on Saturday, showcasing a variety of junior sides in a display of grassroots rugby league talent.

It was a momentous occasion as the Illawarra region hosted the event for the first time in many years, with the Helensburgh Tigers proudly taking on hosting duties.

Teams from the Illawarra, Group 7, St George, and Canterbury regions all took to the field, with young boys and girls ranging from Under 13s to Under 16s showing off their skills.

The day was a roaring success, demonstrating the ongoing growth of rugby league at the grassroots level.

This event was yet another example of the sport's popularity and expansion, breaking participation records once again this year.

It's moments like these that remind us of the rich history and bright future of Rugby League in Australia.
