Rob Hawkins led Halifax Panthers to a triumphant victory in the Wheelchair Challenge Cup, marking their first win in the final in seven years.
The reigning Golden Boot winner played a pivotal role, scoring two first-half tries and successfully converting seven attempts, ensuring the London Roosters remained at bay throughout the match held at Robin Park Sports Centre in Wigan.
Historically, the Panthers have dominated this tournament, previously winning four consecutive titles, but they hadn't reached the final since 2018.
Hawkins, who was recognized as the world's best player by the International Rugby League last year, also assisted fellow England player Jack Brown in scoring, contributing to Halifax's impressive tally of eight tries.
In response, the Roosters, playing in their inaugural final, managed to score five tries, with Mason Billington, one of two London representatives set to participate in the upcoming Future of England match, netting two tries.
The final showcased the skill and resilience of both teams, but Hawkins' standout performance ultimately secured Halifax's victory.
