Harry Grant Re-signs with Storm Until 2028

The Melbourne Storm has officially announced the re-signing of star dummy half Harry Grant, extending his contract through to at least the end of the 2028 season.

Although Grant was eligible to explore options with rival clubs starting November 1, he indicated a strong desire to continue his career with the Storm.

His new two-year contract eliminates any possibility of him playing as a rookie for the Perth Bears in 2027 or the new PNG-based team in 2028, both of which will join the league.

Grant will take on the captaincy of the Melbourne team in 2024. He led the team to the grand final this year, where they faced a tough loss against the Brisbane Broncos. With key players like Ryan Papenhuyzen, Nelson Asofa-Solomona, and Jonah Pezet leaving during the off-season, Grant now steps into a pivotal role as the team transitions into a new chapter.

"It's a great feeling to have my future confirmed until 2028. I feel incredibly privileged to captain this Club and wear the purple jersey in front of the members and fans every week," Grant expressed.

"This Club has always been built on great people, and being at Storm, surrounded by them, brings out the best in me, both on and off the field," he added.

He concluded by emphasizing, "We have a great group of players, coaches and staff and a strong leadership team determined to push the Club to bigger things in 2026."
