Departed Penrith Panthers back-rower Harrison Hassett has officially confirmed his future by signing with a new club, garnering interest from multiple rivals.
Among 13 players who left the Panthers at the end of the 2025 NRL season, Hassett has chosen to join the Cronulla Sharks. Over the past 18 months, he attracted attention from the Brisbane Broncos, Dolphins, and Wests Tigers.
A former Australian Schoolboys representative and the ex-SG Ball Cup Player of the Year, Hassett spent several years in the Panthers' pathways system but struggled to secure a regular position in the first-grade line-up.
Despite this, he made his NRL debut earlier in the year and showcased his potential in various matches within the NSW Cup competition.
The transition to Cronulla allows him to reconnect with former junior teammates Liam Ison and Riley Pollard, and will enable him to learn from established players like Briton Nikora and Teig Wilton as he continues to develop his skills.
