The Rabbitohs were able to secure a crucial victory against the Dragons, propelling them back into the top eight of the NRL standings.

Despite a slow start in the first half, South Sydney managed to pull through with the help of two brilliant try assists from their star fullback, Latrell Mitchell, and a double from their prolific winger, Alex Johnston.

However, the Dragons did not go down without a fight, as they closed the gap to just six points with 15 minutes remaining, thanks to a try created by their halfback, Ben Hunt, for fullback Tyrell Sloan.

Nevertheless, Johnston's late try sealed the victory for the Rabbitohs.

Although the result was what South Sydney needed, their overall performance fell short of expectations, as they struggled to put away a Dragons team that had no further stakes in the season.
