Hannah Southwell, a talented NRLW player, has been granted an immediate release from the Newcastle Knights, sparking speculation and interest from multiple rival teams.
The 25-year-old, who was originally contracted with the Knights until 2025, is now on the hunt for a new team, with options for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
Having previously played for the St George Illawarra Dragons and Sydney Roosters, Southwell has represented the NSW Sky Blues and donned the green and gold for the Australian Jillaroos.
According to reports from The Daily Telegraph, she is rumored to be joining a Sydney-based club such as the Bulldogs, Eels, Rabbitohs, Roosters, Sharks, or Tigers in the near future.
This surprising development comes shortly after Southwell's former teammate Tamika Upton also requested a release from the Knights to return to her hometown and play for the Brisbane Broncos.
Stay tuned for more updates as Southwell finalises her future in the coming days.
