Haas races time, skipping training's crucial climb

New South Wales Blues prop Payne Haas missed the initial training session of the camp in the Blue Mountains as preparations for Game 1 begin.

According to zerotackle.com, the Blues are following a similar training schedule to last year, starting at the Blue Mountains Grammar School in Wentworth Falls before flying to Brisbane to finalize their plans for the opener.

The squad aims to defend the shield they secured last year under coach Michael Maguire.

However, Haas's fitness remains uncertain following a quad injury sustained during a recent match against the St George Illawarra Dragons.

The timing of his recovery is still unclear as the team gears up for next Wednesday's match in Brisbane.
