In a historic feat for the Brisbane Broncos, Payne Haas has become the first player in the club's history to win five-consecutive player of the year awards.

Haas, a formidable front-rower, dominated the competition and edged out strong contenders such as Adam Reynolds, Reece Walsh, and Patrick Carrigan for the prestigious accolade.

The NSW and Australia representative secured 80 votes, surpassing Reynolds (64), Walsh (51), and Carrigan (35) to claim the award for the fifth consecutive year.

This achievement puts Haas in the esteemed company of Allan Langer, who was the only other player in Broncos history to win the award five times.

However, Haas has gone one step further by accomplishing this feat in consecutive years.

Langer, the legendary halfback, achieved his four consecutive wins from 1993 to 1996 after his initial triumph in 1988.

Haas's extraordinary year continued with his selection for the Australian Kangaroos squad, marking his debut in the prestigious team.

His outstanding performance throughout the season, averaging 187 running meters per game and 72 post-contact meters, along with his exceptional defensive skills, earning an average of 29 tackles per game at 99% efficiency, solidified his place among the elite players of the sport.

In addition to his Player of the Year award, Haas also claimed three other accolades at the club's presentation night.

He was recognized as the most consistent player, the best forward, and the players' player.

These awards serve as a well-deserved consolation for Haas after his team's heartbreaking loss in the grand final against Penrith.

Haas's dominance in the Broncos' ranks and his historic achievements highlight his immense talent and dedication to the sport.

As he continues to excel, it is clear that he has cemented his place as one of the all-time greats of Rugby League.
