Haas wins sixth Paul Morgan Medal as Broncos' best
Payne Haas has made history by winning his sixth Paul Morgan Medal in just seven seasons, earning the title of Broncos NRL Player of the Year at the Presentation Ball held at The Star in Brisbane on Thursday.
Having claimed the award consecutively from 2019 through 2023, Haas has now outpaced Broncos legend Allan Langer to become the only player in the club's history to achieve this remarkable feat.
In the 2025 season, the 25-year-old participated in 24 games, averaging 166 run metres-67 of which came post-contact-over nearly 16 hit-ups per match, along with completing 35 tackles with an impressive 98% efficiency.
Haas's performance also included 130 tackle busts and 70 offloads, which led to him receiving the Shane Webcke Award for Best Forward and the Gary Balkin Award for Players' Player.
In other awards, mid-season acquisition Ben Talty earned the Cyril Connell Award for Rookie of the Year during his debut NRL season.
The 26-year-old, who came from the New South Wales Cup, joined the Broncos on a train-and-trial deal in June; he made his debut shortly after against the Bulldogs.
Talty successfully played ten NRL matches and was recently promoted to a two-year contract extension with the top 30 squad, keeping him with the club through to 2027.
