Payne Haas has addressed his upcoming transfer to South Sydney in 2027, marking his first public comments on the matter.
He will part ways with the Brisbane Broncos at the conclusion of the next NRL season, a decision that was shared earlier this month.
Haas refuted claims of any conflict with Broncos coach Michael Maguire, stating that such allegations are unfounded.
"It's BS to be honest. I get along with Madge (Maguire) a lot," Haas expressed.
"We won State of Origin together, won a premiership and there's no sour taste or nothing like that … no bad blood. We're on good terms and I'm going to enjoy this last year with him as well.
"the ultimate goal is to win a comp and that's what we're all striving for here.
"There's no sugarcoating it. He was a bit shocked and fair enough, but he understood my decision and he was happy for me. We've all moved on."
Haas mentioned that family considerations and the chance to reunite with Wayne Bennett prompted his decision to join the Rabbitohs.
Wayne Bennett was the coach who gave Haas his NRL debut back in 2018 with the Broncos.
