The Cowboys website reported that Jye Gray is on the cusp of entering the top 10 in the Dally M leaderboard.

In a recent game, Gray outperformed superstar Latrell Mitchell with 257 run metres and five tackle breaks, earning five votes and solidifying his lead in the rankings.

The Rabbitohs, despite injuries to their halves, managed to defeat the Roosters with Gray's impressive performance.

The last Rabbitohs player to win the Dally M Medal was Robert Laurie in 1980, and Gray is on track to potentially make history in 2025.

In Round 5, Sharks enforcer Addin Fonua-Blake and Broncos player Pat Carrigan were the only ones to receive the maximum six votes in their respective games.

The competition is tight, with other players like Connor Tracey of the Bulldogs and Payne Haas of the Broncos also making significant contributions.

Gray's consistent stellar performances have placed him in a strong position in the Dally M rankings, and his determination to continue his impressive form sets him apart as a potential historical figure in the league.
