The Golden Boot nominees have caused controversy as Payne Haas, despite his limited playing time for Australia, has been included in the list of potential winners.

Haas only participated in two Tests, with his final match resulting in a devastating 30-0 loss for the Australian team in the Pacific Championships.

Alongside Haas, the other contenders for the award include some prominent names such as English halfback Harry Smith and Kiwis internationals James Fisher-Harris and Joseph Tapine.

However, amidst the nominations, doubts have been cast upon the true significance of the Golden Boot, leading to growing calls for a revamp of the prestigious accolade.

Andrew Voss, while expressing his disdain for Haas' nomination, emphasized how the award has lost its true meaning in recent years.

Venting his frustrations on SEN radio, Voss labeled the inclusion of Haas in the nominees as a "farce," further fueling the debate surrounding the integrity of the Golden Boot.
