In an action-packed rugby league news update, the spotlight is on the six players shortlisted for the prestigious 2024 Golden Boot award.
Three top-tier Australian Kangaroos standouts - Harry Grant, Tom Trbojevic, and Isaah Yeo - are vying for the title after clinching the 2024 Pacific Championships against Tonga.
These Aussie powerhouses aim to bring home the award for Australia for the first time since 2017.
Joining them in the race for the Golden Boot are England's crafty center Herbie Farnworth, New Zealand's rising star fullback Keano Kini, and Tonga's formidable front-rower Addin Fonua-Blake.
The last Kangaroo to secure the Golden Boot was Cameron Smith, with other recent winners including England's Tommy Makinson, New Zealand's Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Joseph Manu, and James Fisher-Harris.
"The dedication and hard-hitting performances we've seen on the international rugby league stage over the last month have been truly inspiring.
The passion and commitment displayed by these athletes have set a new standard for the sport," remarked IRL chair Troy Grant.
It's clear that the battle for the Golden Boot will be fiercely contested, with these elite players leaving it all on the field to claim rugby league's ultimate individual honor.
