Gold Coast contract talks remain divided

Titans football boss Scott Sattler says the club wants to help Zane Harrison develop, as contract talks with the halfback remain unsettled.

"Zane wants to win premierships for this club," Sattler told The Courier Mail.

"Zane is a Gold Coast junior, and we would like to think we can offer him an opportunity in the coming years in an environment where he can continue to flourish."

"Zane knows what we think of him as a club.

"We want to continue helping him become the best player he can be.

Negotiations have been underway since before the season began in March, despite the Titans' wish to extend the 20-year-old.

Harrison is contracted through to the end of 2027 but could become a free agent in 14 days.

The Courier Mail reports the dispute concerns a $1.5 million deal, with the club offering $500,000 per season for three years.

Harrison is understood to earn $250,000 in 2026 and wants an upgrade for his final contract year before signing again.

September reports suggested he wanted $900,000 a season from 2028, but manager Sam Ayoub called the figures an "utter lie".
