The Festival of Female Footy is set to take place this Friday night, offering aspiring coaches from the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers the chance to learn from top female rugby league mentors.

The event will feature a coaching workshop led by Titans coach Karyn Murphy and Cowboys coach Ricky Henry, just before the Titans face off against the Cowboys in an NRLW trial match.

Karyn Murphy boasts an impressive background, having represented Australia in 27 Tests and played 20 games for Queensland.

Since entering the NRL in 2015 as a senior investigator for the Integrity Unit, she has also served as an assistant coach for both the Maroons and Jillaroos.

Murphy transitioned to a full-time coaching role as the director of female rugby league at the Titans in 2022.

Ricky Henry, who is preparing for his second season with the North Queensland Titans in NRLW, has also seen considerable success, especially as the head coach of the Kiwi Ferns since 2020.

Under his guidance, New Zealand reached the Rugby League World Cup final in 2022 and triumphed over the Jillaroos in 2023.

The workshop is set for 6.30 PM at the Piggabeen Sports Complex, inviting all coaches in the region to gain insights from these experienced professionals.
