Dolphins' captain Tom Gilbert's season may not be over despite suffering a ruptured pectoral muscle during the match against the Warriors.
According to reports from dolphinsnrl.com.au, Gilbert is scheduled for surgery to repair the muscle tomorrow, with an estimated recovery period of approximately 12 weeks.
With the NRL entering round 12 this weekend, he could potentially return as early as round 24 in mid-August.
This would allow him to participate in the Dolphins' final games as they aim for their first finals appearance.
This is promising news for the 25-year-old, who previously missed the entirety of 2024 due to a knee reconstruction and a significant portion of 2023 because of a shoulder injury.
