Origin of Georgia's rise as Sharks player of influence
Sharks rookie Georgia Hannaway has shared how an unanticipated Origin call-up has bolstered her development into a key player for Cronulla as they push for finals success.
Selected as an interchange utility for Queensland in Origin III, Hannaway has smoothly transitioned from five-eighth to hooker for the Sharks after Jillaroos star Quincy Dodd sustained an injury in Round 6.
Since that time, the 24-year-old has donned the No.9 jersey in five matches, scoring two tries and assisting in another six, as the Sharks find their rhythm ahead of the preliminary final against the Sydney Roosters this Saturday night in Gosford.
This match represents the Sharks' most significant challenge of the season, facing the undefeated Roosters in a rematch of last year's grand final.
With her adaptability, skill, and increasing impact on the big stage, Hannaway has firmly established herself as a player to watch in the future of the NRLW.
