Broughton Set For Kiwi Ferns Debut

Aussie Rugby League hub broncos.com.au has revealed an exciting update - rising star Gayle Broughton is gearing up for her debut with the Kiwi Ferns squad in the upcoming Pacific Championships against fierce rivals Australia and Papua New Guinea.

Broughton, a real gem in the Broncos lineup, who even snagged a New Zealand Olympic gold medal in Tokyo 2020, is set to don the revered Kiwi Ferns jersey for the very first time.

Joining her in the squad are fresh faces like Raiders' Mackenzie Wiki, Dragons' Alexis Tauaneai, and Wests Tigers' Brooke Talataina.

Wiki's got some big shoes to fill as the daughter of legendary NRL Hall of Famer Ruben Wiki - a true titan of the game, having clocked over 50 Tests for the Kiwis.

And let's not forget Adam Blair, the other member of that elite club.

Leading the charge for the Kiwi Ferns is none other than Georgia Hale, the proud owner of the IRL Golden Boot and a seasoned player who's been a rock for the team since her Test debut back in 2014.

Last season, Hale shared the captaincy duties with Raecene McGregor, but this time around, she's taking the helm solo as McGregor has opted out of selection to focus on family commitments.

It's a new chapter for the Kiwi Ferns, with Hale steering the ship and a fresh lineup ready to make their mark on the field.

With grit, determination, and a touch of Kiwi flair, these women are set to carve their names into Rugby League history.
