Cameron Ciraldo has confirmed that new recruit Lachlan Galvin will join the Bulldogs squad for their upcoming match against the Eels, although he won't be wearing the No.7 jersey as Toby Sexton retains his position.

Reports indicate that Galvin has made a positive impression during his initial training sessions and has been accepted by the team.

Ciraldo left open the possibility of Galvin making his debut in the NSW Cup, despite concerns that his inclusion might affect the team's strong performance in 2025.

"He'll be named in the 22 today and we'll make those decisions later in the week," Ciraldo stated regarding Galvin's squad placement.

He also noted that playing reserve grade was discussed when they signed Galvin.

"He was comfortable with it and understood that he had to come here and earn the right to be in the team." Following his early sessions, Ciraldo expressed confidence in Galvin's character and work ethic: "He had no qualms about that which was awesome, and it's a sign of his character that he's happy to come here and play reserve grade to bide his time.

The first two training sessions he's had here, he's impressed us all with his attitude and his work ethic.

If he continues that then he'll be in the team before long."
