Two promising up-and-comers for the North Queensland Cowboys have scored themselves train and trial contracts for the 2025 NRL season, according to reports from Zero Tackle.
Jaxon Purdue is set to join the club's development list next season, alongside Marly Bitungane, Mason Kira, and Jamal Shibasaki.
Zero Tackle previously reported that Kira will move up to the Top 30 roster for the 2026 season after starting on a development contract.
Mutua Brown has also secured a train and trial contract for the upcoming season.
In a report from The Townsville Bulletin, hooker Xavier Kerrisk and front-rower Henry Teutau have also inked train and trial contracts as they aim to break into the NRL first-grade squad.
Kerrisk, at just 19 years old, will benefit from the mentorship of NSW Blues star Reece Robson and gained valuable experience with the Cowboys last pre-season.
These young guns are looking to follow in the footsteps of past greats and make their mark on the rugby league scene, paving the way for a bright future in the sport.
