The North Queensland Cowboys have snapped up young gun Jaxon Purdue for a development contract in preparation for the 2025 NRL season.
Reports from the sporting gurus at Code Sports reveal that Purdue will be joining the likes of Marly Bitungane, Mason Kira, and Jamal Shibasaki on the development list.
After impressing with eight first-grade appearances and two tries in his debut NRL season, the 19-year-old utility player has shown his versatility in the backline.
He will now be vying for the coveted No.7 jersey, his main position, in a fierce competition against Jake Clifford and Tom Duffy.
In a strategic move, Kira is also set to move up to the Top 30 roster for the 2026 season, as reported by Zero Tackle earlier this year.
Additionally, Mutua Brown has secured a train and trial contract for the upcoming season, adding depth to the squad.
