'Bloody Unforgivable': Aussie second-rower Angus Crichton's 'under-9s' blunder absolutely copped a hiding from rugby league fans after a shocking botched try that could rival some of the biggest howlers this season.

Australia managed to get some sweet payback for last year's humiliating defeat in the Pacific Championship final with a hard-fought 22-10 victory over a feisty New Zealand side in Christchurch.

The Kangaroos were left red-faced in last year's final as they were completely smashed 30-0 by their opponents.

But from the get-go, it was obvious that this time around, things were going to be different.

Mitchell Moses' try eight minutes from the final whistle secured Australia's spot in the November 10 final at Parramatta's CommBank Stadium after a scrappy 18-0 win over Tonga in their opening game of the tournament.

With New Zealand set to face off against Tonga at Auckland's Go Media Stadium next week, it's shaping up to be a do-or-die battle for the second spot in the final, mate.

Time to strap in and see who comes out on top in this nail-biting showdown, cobber!
