Las Vegas: The neon lights never stop flashing.

And there's always something happening.

Whether it's attending an NHL ice hockey game, checking out one of the lavish casinos designed to look like ancient Rome, Venice, Paris or Treasure Island, or trying to figure out what in the world a giant glowing Sphere is, there's no shortage of distractions in Sin City for an NRL team.

But as the Raiders prepare for their opening-round showdown against the New Zealand Warriors at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, the focus returns to the task at hand.

New Raiders skipper Joe Tapine, who has already shown he can handle the pressure with ice in his veins, will lead the team in his inaugural season at the helm - right in the heart of the Las Vegas desert.

After a night out watching the Las Vegas Knights, where Tapine showcased his skills on the ice rink, the players had a well-deserved day off on Monday.

Some took the opportunity to visit the Sphere - a massive glowing orb that dominates the Vegas skyline.

Come Tuesday, when the team is named, it will be all business as the Raiders look to make a strong start to the season amidst the glitz and glamour of Sin City.
