However, their reputation has taken a positive turn in Newcastle, where they are playing a pivotal role in the Jets' A-League revival.

Just two years ago, the future of the club looked bleak, particularly when Australian Professional Leagues (APL) chairman Stephen Conroy stated that the governing body could no longer afford to provide financial support.

The Jets had been operating under interim management and were financially propped up by several fellow club owners for over three years, following the revocation of their licence from Chinese billionaire Martin Lee in January 2021.
