Impressive rookie duo Sunia Turuva and Jahream Bula have been named in the Fiji squad for the upcoming Pacific Championships.

Both Turuva and Bula were finalists for the 2023 Dally M Rookie of the Year, with Turuva eventually winning the award.

The squad, selected by coach Wise Kativerata, also includes NRL players Maika Sivo and Waqa Blake from the Parramatta Eels, as well as experienced outside backs Mikaele Ravalawa and Taane Milne.

Tui Kamikamica, a forward for the Melbourne Storm, will captain the side, taking over from Kevin Naiqama.

The men's team will begin their Pacific Championships campaign on October 22 against Cook Islands, followed by a match against hosts Papua New Guinea on October 29.

The women's side will have their sole fixture against Samoa on October 15, featuring players such as Cassie Staples, Sereana Naitokatoka, and Talei Holmes.
