Wests Tigers winger Jakiya Whitfeld has been chosen to join the Australia Jillaroos squad for the upcoming Pacific Championships rematch against the Kiwi Ferns.

This marks a significant achievement for Whitfeld in her second year in the NRLW, where she played in all nine games for Wests Tigers during their inaugural season.

The 22-year-old has been in exceptional form, particularly during last month's Australian PM's XIII tour in Papua New Guinea, where she scored an impressive four tries.

In addition to her national selection, it was announced today that Whitfeld will be joining the North Queensland Cowboys next season.

Wests Tigers NRLW coach Brett Kimmorley has extended his congratulations to Whitfeld on her well-deserved achievement.
