From Storm's fury to Panthers' purr, Grant roars back

LeagueNews.co | Jason Patrick

In a move that could be described as a homecoming, former Melbourne Storm prop Jordan Grant has signed a train-and-trail deal with the Penrith Panthers, allowing him to bring his journeyman career full circle.

Hailing from Penrith himself, Grant has had brief stints with both the Parramatta Eels and the Wests Tigers Under 20s before rising through the Panthers' juniors system with the St Clair Comets.

From 2021 to 2023, Grant called Melbourne home, donning the famous Storm jersey seven times under the watchful eye of Craig Bellamy.

His first-grade debut came in a dominant 48-4 victory over the Knights, leaving a lasting impression.

The news of Grant's return to the foot of the Blue Mountains was announced by Peter Lang of The Western Weekender, and the 29-year-old is now hoping to secure one of the two vacant spots on Ivan Cleary's roster.
