Cronulla Sharks captain Tiana Penitani and Cowboys utility China Polata have been named in the Tonga Women's squad for the upcoming Pacific Championships.

Both players had impressive seasons with their clubs and also represented their states in the State of Origin series.

Their inclusion in the squad will provide valuable experience to the team, which is being coached by Kelvin Wright.

Joining them in the squad are Eels winger Cassey Tohi-Hiku, who recently showcased her skills for the Australian Prime Minister's XIII team in their victory in Papua New Guinea, and Titans rookie Dannii Perese, who played in the NRLW grand final loss to the Knights.

Their addition will further strengthen the team.

Tonga is set to compete in Week 2 of the Pacific Championships and will face off against New Zealand at Eden Park later this month.

It will be an exciting clash between two formidable teams.

The Tongan squad is looking strong with the inclusion of Penitani, Polata, Tohi-Hiku, and Perese, and they will be aiming to make a significant impact in the tournament.
