Tonegato named NSW Women’s Origin Player of the Year

Emma Tonegato, who has been a key player for the NRLW Sharks in their debut season, has been recognized for her outstanding performances by being named the NSW Women's Origin Player of the Year for 2023.

The announcement was made at the Brad Fittler Medal night, which took place at the Star Event Centre in Sydney and was attended by 500 players, officials, corporate partners, and guests.

Tonegato had an impressive series for the NSW Sky Blues, particularly in Game Two in Townsville where she ran for an impressive 238m, had 11 tackle busts, and made two offloads.

Her medal was presented to her by Harvey Norman NSW Sky Blues coach Kylie Hilder.

On the men's side, Brian To'o was awarded the prestigious Brad Fittler Medal for his outstanding performances in the State of Origin series, where he averaged over 200 running meters per match as a winger for the Westpac NSW Blues.

The medal was presented to To'o by Westpac NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler, and the event also saw the announcement of 20 other awards for various representative competitions, major competitions, junior representative competitions, and the community.
