In a stunning turn of events, Finefeuiaki and Goldthorp have been crowned Rookies of the Year by cowboys.com.au.

Finefeuiaki, despite starting the 2023 season outside the NRL squad, managed to become a regular player in the first grade.

The 19-year-old even made his debut in a thrilling victory over the Roosters during the Magic Round at Suncorp Stadium.

His breakthrough continued as he scored his first try in a Round 16 Golden Point win over the Panthers, and followed it up with another crucial try in an away victory against the Rabbitohs.

With a total of 12 appearances, Finefeuiaki showcased his talent and contributed to the Cowboys winning eight of those games.

On the other hand, Goldthorp already had an impressive rugby league resume prior to this season, making his recognition as a Rookie of the Year even more remarkable.
