'Not tough enough': The pub dare that launched Travis' NRLW career
What began as a daring challenge in a pub has evolved into an impressive journey for Eels forward Paige Travis, taking her from England to the NRLW.
Determined to prove a skeptic wrong, Travis ventured into a new sport-rugby-having previously only participated in gymnastics. Despite suffering an injury during her first training session, she found herself instantly captivated by the sport.
Since that pivotal moment, Travis has represented England at the Rugby League World Cup in 2022 and faced off against the Jillaroos in Las Vegas earlier this year, eventually signing with the Eels.
The 26-year-old second-rower has been a key player for St Helens, contributing to their success in winning four consecutive Challenge Cup finals and clinching the Women's Super League grand final in 2021. This season, she has made an appearance in every match for Parramatta.
