Luke Keary, the seasoned Roosters player, has made a surprising decision to extend his career across the seas with the Catalans Dragons in France.

The 32-year-old, who had originally planned to retire at the end of the season, had a change of heart and will now be taking his talents to the Super League for the next two seasons.

The abrupt change in plans came after some convincing phone calls from Roosters coach Trent Robinson, who saw potential in Keary's skills transferring to the French rugby scene.

Keary, a three-time premiership winner, will be embarking on a new adventure with his young family, eager to tackle the challenges and opportunities that come with playing overseas.

Despite initially hesitating, Keary was swayed after chatting with Catalans coach Steve McNamara, a familiar face from his days at the Roosters.

With the support of his coach and the allure of a fresh start in a new environment, Keary's decision to join the Dragons was cemented.

"I've got no desire to play in the NRL anymore," Keary confessed.

And with that, the stage is set for Keary to make his mark in the Super League, bringing a touch of Aussie flair to the field in France.
