From League to Union: Pele's Playful Pivot

LeagueNews.co | Jess Malloy

Former NRL forward Franklin Pele has made a significant switch in his athletic career, leaving rugby league to join rugby union.

Initially starting the season with the Bradford Bulls in the RFL Championship, Pele's tenure with the team ended abruptly when he walked out in May.

This led the Bulls to consider legal action against him for his sudden departure.

Now, Pele has signed with Racing Club de Narbonne, a club competing in the third division of French rugby union, marking his transition from the 13-man code of rugby league to rugby union.

The spokesperson for the Bradford Bulls emphasized the importance of team commitment, stating, "No Bradford Bulls player, nor individual ever has been or ever will be bigger than the club itself.

Any contracted player must fully be committed to representing the club, its badge and its supporters."

Pele's move signifies not only a personal career change but also highlights the challenges and expectations involved in professional sports contracts.
