Former Melbourne Storm player Craig Smith has found success in the landscaping industry since retiring from Rugby League.

Smith, who played a crucial role in Storm's first ever premiership win in 1999, now co-owns and operates Smith & Wilson Landscaping and Maintenance.

The business specializes in landscaping, interior design, property development, and project management.

Smith's career-defining moment came in the grand final when he caught a crossfield kick, only to be taken out by a high shot from Dragons winger Jamie Ainscough.

Despite being knocked out and spilling the ball, Smith escaped serious injury.

Now, he is making a name for himself in the landscaping world.

Working on his own schedule allows Smith to create designs that he takes genuine pride in.

Smith's business partner is former AFL star Brian Wilson, and together they have built a successful venture.

As part of RedZed's Next Play initiative, Melbourne Storm is highlighting local businesses owned by former players, showcasing their success after retiring from the sport.
