The Wests Tigers have made another promising addition to their junior ranks with the signing of SG Ball hooker Jared Haywood on a one-year contract, as reported by zerotackle.com.
Haywood, originally from St Marys, began his rugby league journey in the Penrith Panthers Under-15s development squad before making the move to the Balmain Tigers, which is one of the two pathways teams of the Wests Tigers.
After representing the Balmain Tigers Harold Matthews Cup team in 2023, Haywood has now earned a spot in the SG Ball Cup squad for this season.
This opportunity allows him to learn from seasoned professionals such as Apisai Koroisau, Jake Simpkin, and the talented Tallyn Da Silva.
Confirmed by Aria Management Group, Haywood has secured a contract with the Wests Tigers until the end of the 2024 season.
This signing shows the club's commitment to nurturing and developing young talent, as they aim to build a strong foundation for the future.
