In a gritty display of determination, Tony Francis of the Gold Coast Titans played through the pain barrier in Sunday's thrilling victory over the Brisbane Broncos.

Despite suffering an AC joint injury early in the game, Francis bravely soldiered on until the 19th minute when he was forced to leave the field for treatment.

The young debutant even managed to score his first try before being sidelined for the next four to six weeks to recover from his injury.

Fortunately, Francis was the only casualty from the hard-fought derby clash at Suncorp Stadium.

Star player David Fifita also passed his head injury assessment after being substituted in the 75th minute, ensuring he will be available for the Titans' next game.

This display of courage and resilience from Francis epitomizes the spirit of Rugby League, where players are willing to put their bodies on the line for the team.

The Titans will no doubt miss his presence on the field, but they will be hoping for a speedy recovery so that Francis can make a triumphant return to action.
